Trauma Healing & Peace Camps

Leaving your home and moving to a new country is hard.
Our Trauma Healing and Peace Camps are designed to help refugees, asylum seekers and new migrant youth and young people understand conflict and loss while connecting with God and other people from a similar situation.
Life Hurts, Love Heals Youth Camps are interactive residential camps that use accredited programs run by Christian leaders. Camps are for youth of all faith backgrounds.
Our Trauma Healing camps use material from the Trauma Healing Institute. On the Trauma Healing camps participants will be using stories from the Scriptures to reflect on and will be telling their own stories, they'll also be connecting with their feelings and building skills to cope with the difficulties of life. It will also provide them with the opportunity to connect with others of similar age in a meaningful way. We promote a safe place for youth to begin to find healing from some of the hurts they have had in life. This healing comes through experiencing love from the group facilitators, from their peers, and from God.
During the camp there will be sessions addressing questions that youth sometimes struggle with;
-
Am I important to anyone?
-
If God loves me, why do I hurt so much?
-
How do I connect with my feelings?
-
How do I deal with my pain?
-
How do I deal with my loss?
-
What about my personal boundaries?
-
How can I tell my story?
-
Where can I take my pain?
-
How can I forgive?
-
How do I more forward?

Our Peace Camps help youth understand conflict and learn to be peacemakers. We use material from PeaceWise as well as hear stories from the Scriptures about peace. There will be sessions discussing these questions;
-
What is conflict?
-
Where does conflict come from?
-
What is God’s peace plan for us?
-
How do we become peacemakers?
-
How can I own my part in a conflict?
